KPMG Georgia holds IFRS Update 2012 seminar
On November 16 KPMG in Georgia invited clients and targets to its IFRS Update 2012 seminar, which took place at the Radisson Blu Iveria.
The seminar was opened by the Managing Partner of Armenia and Georgia, Andrew Coxshall who welcomed the participants and explained the importance of IFRS in today's financial world. Aram Asatryan, Partner, DPP, delivered presentations to the seminar participants. The participants considered amendments to IFRS in 2012, and also amendments that become effective in 2013 and are anticipated in 2014 and later.
The IFRS Update seminar was attended by around 50 people from the financial departments of leading Georgian and international companies. All the participants rated the seminar very highly. They thanked KPMG for this opportunity which will help them in their professional activity.

Meeting with Mr. Giorgi Kadagidze - Governor of the Central Bank

On November 13, 2012 and in the frame of his regular meetings with government officials, ICC Chairman Fady Asly met Giorgi Kadagidze Governor of the Central Bank to discuss the country's post election economic and financial landscape. Both parties agreed to meet again second week of December to assess the situation on the basis of the data for November 2012 that will be released early December

ICC Georgia Social Gathering 2 November, 2012 / First Private Club

On 2th of November ICC Georgia with the sponsorship of Sounders Group held a social gathering for the members and the diplomatic corp. First Private Club offered a great venue for the occasion. The clubs effortless charm and atmosphere perfectly served the purpose of the event.
The main theme of the event evolved around the promotion of Sounders Group which was arranged by ICC and is going to be presented by Business courier live on Rustavi 2 television. The event kicked off with a small preview of the footage that will be used by Business Courier for the promotion purposes. The guests were also offered an equal opportunity to employ same means in order to promote their businesses and activities. Mr. Sounders personally thanked ICC and the members for the support and pointed out the significance of organization's mission in Georgia and the region in general.


ICC Georgia Press Conference regarding current strikes in Poti Port

On November 2nd, 2012 International Chamber of Commerce hosted Press Conference regarding ongoing strikes in Poti Port. Chairman of International Chamber of Commerce Mr. Fady Asly, together with General Director of Poti Sea Port Mr. Joseph Crowley addressed the issue of unusual rise of unrest within various social and business sectors in the country.
For the past few weeks Georgia is witnessing a series of strikes within several corporate sectors and in different regions the aim of which is to destabilize the country and weaken the newly appointed government.



Meeting with Mr. Archil Kbilashvili 18 October, 2012

In the scope of regular meetings with the government of Georgia, ICC Georgia organized a Round Table with Mr. Archil Kbilashvili, the nominated Prosecutor General of Georgian - on 18 October 2012 at the Radisson Blu Iveria Hote. The event was organized exclusively for ICC Members and the Diplomatic Corps.
The meeting was opened by Fady Asly, Chairman of ICC Georgia and followed by Mr. Kbilashvili's presentation. The ICC Georgia business community was concisely informed about what will be the polices and approach of the Prosecutor General vis-à-vis imminent country-wide judicial reform and restructuring. ICC members and the Diplomatic Corps were given ample time for questions and responses.
