On the 21st of December an official meeting took place in the ministry of finance. The ICC board members were invited by the minister of finance – Mr. Kakha Baindurashvili, to discuss new initiatives concerning the enhancement of business environment in Georgia. 
Minister stated that the main focus of the business should be concentrated upon business to business enhanced communications and cooperation, as well as business to government close collaboration. Additionally it was affirmed that such chambers as ICC play vital role in supporting all types of business organizations and associations, by sharing existing valuable information and assisting them in their needs.
After Mr. Baindurashvili’s main statement the board members of ICC reviewed and debated regarding the current problematic issues which need to be resolved in order to boost present business environment.
The major issues touched upon:

  • Tax regulations
  • Communication barriers and trust issues with officials
  • Lack of existence of medium sized businesses
  • Insufficient professional trainings
  • Positive changes in legislation 

Finally it was stated that the meeting will provide solid base for starting up new level of cooperation between the government and the private sector.
