ICC-Georgia’s first business luncheon a success for SMEs

On April 14, the National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC-Georgia), in collaboration with the USAID-funded SME Support Project, hosted its first business luncheon at the Marriot Tbilisi Hotel.
Representatives from Georgian SMEs attended to discuss policies and cooperation with ICC-Georgia. They expressed great interest in joining the business chamber, which holds small and medium business development as a key priority.

Ten more leading businesses join ICC Georgia

ICC Georgia is growing in leaps and bounds, and its latest members say they are excited to be part of the country's most dynamic business organization.
At its March 19 board meeting, ICC Georgia welcomed ten new members into the chamber: Besiki Business Centre, Booz Allen Hamilton-Georgia; T & K Restaurants (McDonalds Georgia); Coca-Cola Bottlers Georgia Ltd.; HSBC Bank; BGI, Multiplex Solution and CapitalVostok. The French Business Council and the Association of Banks of Georgia have also joined ICC-Georgia as Ex-officio members.

Meeting with European Commission delegation to Georgia

ICC-Georgia attended a preparatory meeting for the 7th EU-Georgia Sub-Committee on Trade, Economic and Related Legal Issues.
The meeting included representatives from the European Commission's Directorate-General for Trade as well as the deputy head of the EU delegation to Georgia.

ICC Georgia meets with the SME Support Project

ICC Georgia met with Dan Berkshire Chief of Party of the SME Support Project (USAID funded), and Saba Sarishvili, SME Development Manager, to discuss the situation of small and medium enterprises in Georgia. The meeting focused on finding proper mechanisms whereby ICC Georgia could actively help tackle SME’s problems and strengthen their activities.

Fady Asly, ICC Georgia Chairman, underlined that SMEs are the backbone of any sound economy, and that strong efforts should be made to further their development.

ICC Georgia has launched its Georgian website. Now the readers can view the site on both English and Georgian languages, which is regularly updated with ICC-Georgia news.
