Mr. Levan, first of all, could you briefly tell us about GM PHARMA, which was founded in 2000 and currently is the largest pharmaceutical company in the Caucasus region?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Well, you are absolutely right; today GM PHARMA is an international pharmaceutical company from Georgia with medicines and food supplements manufactured in GMP-certified manufacturing plants in Western European countries (Germany, Greece, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Sweden, Portugal) and in its own GMP certified manufacturing plant in Georgia.<\/p>\n<p>GM PHARMA\u2019s manufacturing site in Tbilisi is the largest pharmaceutical plant in the Caucasus region, where the full manufacturing cycle is carried out through the newest technologies \u2013 from raw materials to the finished product. The basic formulation processes currently carried out in the factory are Blending, Granulation, Tableting, Tablet coating, Capsule filling, Bottle filling, Sachet filling and Blister and Bottle packaging. The company holds international certificates, permits, and licenses required for pharmaceutical manufacturing, such as: Good Manufacturing Practice \u2013 GMP PIC\/S, Quality Management \u2013 ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 17025:2017\/2018, as well as US Dietary Supplement Safety Inspection \u2013 NSF (National Sanitation Foundation). GM PHARMA is constantly monitored by independent auditors from the United Kingdom, the United States, and the European Union for compliance with EU GMP regulations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Mr. Levan, as far as we know, GM PHARMA participated in the international pharmaceutical exhibition \u2013 CPhl Worldwide 2021, which was held <\/strong><strong>in Milan during November 9-11. What was the status of GM PHARMA at the exhibition and what is the company\u2019s strategy for the near future?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>GM PHARMA was the only pharmaceutical manufacturer from Georgia exhibiting at CPhl Worldwide 2021 exhibition, with a status of the leading pharmaceutical company of the country. The main goal of GM PHARMA was to find new contacts and also to deepen the cooperation already started with the world-famous pharmaceutical companies, which in turn was a prerequisite for achieving the company\u2019s main goal \u2013 to be prepared for the EU market entry.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, GM PHARMA is actively preparing to enter the EU market. To achieve this goal, the company carried out some preparatory work at the exhibition. To this end, the GM PHARMA team held approximately 400 successful meetings with the management of pharmaceutical companies operating in EU countries; the issues discussed at the meetings included the technology transfer plans from European countries to Georgia, \u201cOut-licensing\u201d and \u201cIn-licensing\u201d projects, opportunities for joint development of drug products with European companies in GM PHARMA\u2019s Research and Development lab (so-called R&amp;D co development), as well as contract manufacturing for various pharmaceutical companies in manufacturing site of GM PHARMA in Georgia.<\/p>\n<p>We can claim that in consequence, GM PHARMA is one step closer to the company\u2019s main medium-term goal \u2013 to enter the EU pharmaceutical market by 2023-2024. Successful participation in the exhibition 2021 has further improved the company\u2019s international prestige. Many companies with international reputation expressed their wish to cooperate with GM PHARMA. Cooperation with existing partners has also been enhanced, which serves as the basis for great achievements in the future.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Mr. Levan, we should definitely underline the global importance of this international exhibition \u2013 how many participants and countries are united into this exhibition platform, and how big is the responsibility that GM PHARMA bears along with high prestige of participating in this exhibition?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Actually, the International Pharmaceutical Exhibition CPhl Worldwide is a global platform. It unites thousands of pharmaceutical professionals, manufacturers, suppliers or buyers from all over the world and provides a unified place for their cooperation. With more than 1,400 exhibitor pharmaceutical companies from more than 170 countries, CPhI WorldWide is a leading prestigious international pharmaceutical exhibition which held its first event in 1989. It brings together the manufacturers of finished pharmaceutical products, active pharmaceutical ingredients, excipients, intermediate pharmaceuticals, as well as of natural extracts.<\/p>\n<p>Certainly, it was a remarkable success for GM PHARMA to present Georgia at the CPhl Worldwide 2021 Exhibition, but at the same time, it was a great responsibility too, because, as I have already mentioned, the company was the only exhibitor from Georgia and represented the pharmaceutical industry of our country.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Mr. Levan, GM PHARMA is actively preparing to enter the EU market. Would you introduce the company\u2019s portfolio of drug products to the reader?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Well, GM PHARMA\u2019s portfolio includes drug products for almost all areas of medicine (cardiology, endocrinology, gynaecology, urology, paediatrics, surgery, neurology, psychiatry, etc.), including food supplements.<\/p>\n<p>GM PHARMA\u2019s product list includes modern, innovative drug products recommended by the latest international therapeutic schemes and guidelines.<\/p>\n<p>The high quality of GM PHARMA\u2019s products is achieved through the production cycle and quality management processes in accordance with the international best practices. GM PHARMA uses cutting edge technologies, machinery and equipment in the manufacture of its drug products, thereby meeting strict environmental and employee safety and health standards. GM PHARMA\u2019s manufacturing plant is equipped with modern machinery and laboratory equipment made by the world\u2019s leading companies, such as: BOSCH, FETTE, UHLMANN, H\u00dcTTLIN, IMA, BOHLE, SERVOLIFT, SKINETTA, ENFLEX, ERWEKA, MILLIPORE, AGILENT TECHNOLOGIES, STILMAS, etc.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5. Finally, what are the company\u2019s future plans and challenges, and which are the countries where GM PHARMA exports its products?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>GM PHARMA has official representative offices in 5 countries (Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan Armenia and Moldova), employing more than 220 employees and successfully selling the pharmaceu\u0002tical products of GM PHARMA. In 2019, exported pharmaceutical products of GM PHARMA exceeded the quantity sold in Georgia for the first time and amounted to USD 24 million; In 2020, USD 28.5 million worth of pharmaceutical products were sold in markets abroad; and in 2021 \u2013 the figure rose to USD 37 million (&gt; 10 million packs), which, you will surely agree with me, is a significant achievement for any Georgian company and is highly beneficial for the Georgian economy.<\/p>\n<p>We plan to open representative offices in Belarus and Ukraine in 2022, and \u2013 in Kazakhstan and Latvia in 2023; besides, the company plans to apply for registration and operate in the Central and Western European markets by 2024.<\/p>\n<p>As we estimate, 10-12 million patients are currently treated with GM PHARMA\u2019s drug products every year in Georgia and in the international markets of the company (in export countries), which, certainly, indicates the recognition of our company by customers and healthcare professionals. GM PHARMA aims to improve the quality of life for as many patients as possible and prolong their lives with its drug products.
