On March 14, 2023, a violent mob attacked the offices of our member, BGI Legal, located on Rustaveli Avenue. In scenes reminiscent of July 5, 2021, and May 17, 2013, mobs roamed the streets and threw rocks and clay pots into the second-floor office of BGI, as police stood idle. One person was injured.<\/p>\n
\u201cMost observers note that the mob, which later burned the EU flag in front of the Georgian Parliament, has been aided and abetted by powerful forces in or behind the Georgian government, ensuring the sense of impunity for the attackers and instilling a sense of fear among those targeted for the attack.\u00a0Most of the incident has been filmed on video, though the Police seem to be focused on the version that the attackers were provoked and have not bothered to detain those who can be easily identified on the photos. Saying that the perpetrators should be brought to justice would be an understatement, though judging from previous experience, the likelihood of this happening is remote.\u201d Said Mr. Fady Asly Chairman of the Board.<\/p>\n
ICC calls upon all business organizations and diplomatic missions in Georgia to exert pressure on the Georgian government to immediately investigate the alarming incident and bring those responsible to justice.<\/p>\n
