In a recent article in the Georgian press, a journalist was wondering about ICC Georgia\u2019s source of income.<\/p>\n
I am publishing our source of income in GEL for 2022,\u00a0that can be also confirmed by the Revenue Service of Georgia.<\/p>\n
– 249,885: \u00a0Membership fees
\n– 4,000:\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 ICC Magazine advertisements
\n– 600:\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 ICC Books
\n– 100:\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Trainings<\/p>\n
Total Income: 254,585 GEL<\/p>\n
For twenty five years that I had the honor to chair two major business organizations in Georgia, seven years as President of the American Chamber of Commerce,\u00a0and thereafter as Chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce in Georgia, I have always categorically refused any donors money, be it from the Georgian government, from other governments, from international donors, from international financial institutions or from any other third source of finance.<\/p>\n
The reason behind my decision was always\u00a0 to keep our independence and our freedom of speech, and to be able to address any stakeholder with honesty and confidence.<\/p>\n
Among all major business organizations in Georgia, ICC-Georgia is the one with the smallest budget, but at the same time it is the most vocal, the most independent, the most heard and the most fearless.<\/p>\n
And it all comes to our financial independence! Our mandate as stated\u00a0in our charter is to strive for the betterment of the business and investment climate and to protect our members from harassment and wrong doing, and this is what we have always done the best, and that we shall always do fearlessly.<\/p>\n
Governments come and governments go, but ICC-Georgia was and will always remain the symbol of professionalism, freedom, honesty, independence and courage.<\/p>\n
