Fourth meeting of the ICC Regional Consultative Group (RCG) Broader Middle East – North Africa (B-MENA)
On May 28, 2012 ICC-Georgia is hosting the 4th ICC Regional Meeting for the Broader Middle East and North Africa; the meeting will include the Chairmen and Secretary Generals of the following National Committees: Austria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, Pakistan, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, UAE, as well as high ranking Executives from ICC Head Quarters in Paris and London.
The event is under the Patronage of Prime Minister Gilauri and will be a good opportunity for our guests to get acquainted with the attractive investment environment in Georgia and to meet ICC-Georgia members and government officials.
To honor the guests A Gala dinner will be organized on May 28 at Rustaveli Theater and will be attended by ICC Georgia members, diplomats and government representatives.
ICC Georgia is pleased to announce that ICC headquarter will be holding a Training on "International Contracts: Negotiating and drafting key clauses, dispute resolution, different cultural and legal approaches" in Paris on 11-14 June 2012. Working languages is English.
Negotiating and drafting a contract of quality, which will allow the parties to preserve their relationship in the long term, are skills and techniques that need to be learned, as does managing the "post-contract" and dealing with different kinds of conflict resolution. This training will focus, through the study of a mock case, on these issues and the main problems that arise in international contracts. EU Funding Opportunities | Seminar
Seminar on European Funding Opportunities took place at ICC Georgia office on 16 May 2012. Key note speaker Mr. Stephane Joiris de Caussin, Director of GIS - ESL &Network Consulting, opened the presentation by the global overview of EU funding schemes that included introduction of EU working mechanisms and comparison between European Neighborhood Policy Instrument (ENPI) and Community Programs such as FP7 and CIP as well as TEMPUS program.
24 April, 2012 Round Table “Personal Data Protection”
The subsequent round table, concerning to the "Personal Data Protection" draft Law, organized by ICC Georgia took place on 24 April 2012 at Radisson Blue Iveria Hotel. Key note speaker was Mrs. Nino Sarishvili Head of Research and Analysis Unit at Ministry of Justice and one of the authors of the Law.
The event was opened by the presentation in which core issues were covered. After introducing the working group engaged in elaborating the above mentioned draft Law key note speaker briefly talked about the fundamental principles of the law, data processing and Inspector institute. Later on presentation was followed by the discussion.
On 23 March 2012 at the Sheraton Hotel in Batumi ICC-Georgia held a presentation concerning the recent amendments introduced to the Tax Code and other relevant innovations. The event was co-organized by the International Chamber of Commerce and by the International Investor Association with the support of the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Ajara. The presentation was led by Mr. Zurab Nikvashvili, partner of "Ernst & Young", and Vice Chairman of ICC Georgia.
Round Table | Labor Code March 7, 2012 The round table was held on 7 March at Sheraton Metechi Palace concerning the Labor Code. Key note speaker Mr. Vakhtang Lejava Chief Adviser to the Prime Minister made the introductory speech, briefly touched the core issues and importance of Labor code. Due to the high interest, representatives of various companies as well as diplomatic corps attended the event. Attendees had the opportunity to express their viewpoint, conduct debates and get respective response from the competent person.
The Georgian-Ukrainian business forum was held at Holiday Inn Tbilisi on March 2, 2012. Businessmen from the Ukrainian delegation represented following sectors: Construction, Telecommunication, Transport, Tourism, Agrarian and Light industry.
The event was opened by the speaker of the Georgian parliament. Mr. Davit Bakradze welcomed the guests and spoke about the successful reforms, which were carried out in Georgia since the Rose Revolution. After the official part, B2B meetings between Georgian and Ukrainian companies took place and the companies face to face had an opportunity to discuss future cooperation in the various sectors of economy.
