First of all, please share with us the story of your success so far, including the stages and challenges you’ve gone through, and tell us where you are in your career today.

For me, success has always meant stepping out of my comfort zone, continuous growth, and an action-oriented mindset. This principle has guided me throughout my career, with every new stage opening doors to new opportunities.

My professional journey is rooted in management. I began my career in the private sector and later transitioned to public service, where I spent 12 years in senior positions at the Ministry of Finance and the National Statistics Office of Georgia. During this period, together with an outstanding team, we implemented major national reforms, including tax system transformation, introduction of the “Open Window” principle (for the first time in Georgia!), development of electronic tax services, and the digitalization and alignment of the national statistics system with European standards.

Over the past seven years, I have collaborated with international organizations such as the UNDP, USAID, and other development partners. My work has focused on designing major economic reforms, enhancing the potential of the “Middle Corridor,” strategy development, data analysis, and supporting the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals. This experience gives me a unique perspective: I deeply understand the needs of the private sector, the public sector, and donors—and more importantly, I know how to transform those needs into tangible, sustainable results that truly benefit people.

Today, together with my like-minded colleagues at Credence Consulting, I use this diverse experience to support ecosystem development. For me, this is what success means—turning theoretical opportunities into practical, real value and capital.

Tell us more about your work at Credence Consulting. How does your company approach helping clients navigate complex policy reforms and regulatory compliance issues?

Credence Consulting was founded during a time of crisis, following the closure of USAID. We strongly believed that crises create opportunities, and so we decided to build an innovative platform based on the philosophy: from policy → to implementation → from partnership → to capital.

Today, Credence Consulting functions both as an expert hub and a provider of consulting services. We bring together leading professionals from Georgia and abroad to offer services in areas such as policy reform, regulatory compliance, financial markets, competitiveness assessments, project and investment management, and sustainable development systems.

Our key advantage lies in our approach—partnership for sustainable results. We have trusted partners both in Georgia and internationally.

We already have our first successful project: together with Loialté, we launched an SME Acceleration Program in Uzbekistan, which not only fosters business growth but also strengthens regional economic ties.

Credence Consulting has long-term goals in the region, particularly in Central Asia and neighboring countries. Our philosophy is simple: transforming crises into opportunities and building long-term, sustainable results and capital together with our clients.

As the founder of the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Professionals Association (MELPA), what has been your experience in designing MEL strategies, and why is a strong MEL framework essential for impactful development projects?

I believe that data-driven analysis and decision-making are the foundation of success. Any initiative lacking a strategic vision and clearly defined outcomes is destined to fail. MEL is not just a set of tools—it is a culture of thinking.

A strong MEL system ensures that projects go beyond accountability. It generates knowledge that strengthens future initiatives and fosters a culture of continuous learning.

Through my experience, I have learned that the greatest value is created when data is transformed into action and tangible results. This is why a strong MEL framework is essential for effective and sustainable development.

The MEL Professionals Association, which we founded, now unites around 80 members. Our goal is to institutionalize this approach—both in Georgia and across the region. I am also a member of the International Development Evaluation Association (IDEAS).

What inspired you to pursue a career in academia, and how has this experience influenced your professional growth?

Sharing knowledge has always been a source of great joy for me. Working with students gives me energy and motivates me to continuously grow.

I hold a PhD in Economics and a Master’s in Public Administration. I am also a graduate of Harvard Kennedy School (Leading Successful Programs) and completed an academic program at Oxford University. As a professor, I was invited to join the Harvard Business School MOC Network, which has been both a great honor and an invaluable experience.

I have been engaged in academia for over 10 years. It is a space that creates synergy through knowledge-sharing and feedback, generating new ideas and renewing energy. The synthesis of theory and practice gives my professional life special value: on one hand, I emphasize research and analysis, and on the other, I share real-life examples with students.

Finally, to wrap things up, what advice would you give to the next generation of aspiring professionals and young people taking the first steps in their career?

First and foremost, listen to your own aspirations. Be curious, keep learning every day, and never shy away from challenges. The era of diplomas is over—this is the era of skills. Your practical knowledge, adaptability, and creativity will be your true value in any field.

Make the most of your time and take action. At the same time, never forget about work-life balance—it is the foundation that enables lasting success.

Most importantly, hold on to your values and surround yourself with positive people. They will be your most reliable partners at every stage of your journey.

პირველ რიგში, გთხოვთ, გაგვიზიაროთ თქვენი წარმატების ისტორია, რა ეტაპებსა და სირთულეებს მოიცავდა ეს გზა და სად იმყოფებით ახლა პროფესიულ ცხოვრებაში?

ჩემთვის წარმატება ყოველთვის კომფორტის ზონის დატოვებას, მუდმივ განვითარებასა და მოქმედებაზე ორიენტირებულ მიდგომას ნიშნავდა. ეს პრინციპი ჩემი კარიერის განმავლობაში არაერთხელ გამომადგა და ყოველი ახალი ეტაპი ახალ შესაძლებლობებს ხსნიდა.

ჩემი პროფესიული გზა მენეჯმენტის სფეროს უკავშირდება. კარიერა კერძო სექტორში დავიწყე, რის შემდეგაც გადავინაცვლე საჯარო სამსახურში, სადაც 12 წლის განმავლობაში წამყვან პოზიციებზე ვმუშაობდი ფინანსთა სამინისტროსა და სტატისტიკის ეროვნულ სამსახურში. ამ პერიოდში არაჩვეულებრივ გუნდთან ერთად განვახორციელე ქვეყნისთვის უმნიშვნელოვანესი რეფორმები, მათ შორის: საგადასახადო სისტემის გარდაქმნა, „ერთი ფანჯრის“ პრინციპის დანერგვა (პირველად საქართველოში!), საგადასახადო ელექტრონული სერვისების განვითარება, სტატისტიკის სისტემის გაციფრულება და მისი ევროპულ სტანდარტებთან დაახლოება.

გვიამბეთ მეტი თქვენი საქმიანობის შესახებ Credence Consulting-ში. როგორ ეხმარება თქვენი კომპანია კლიენტებს კომპლექსური პოლიტიკის რეფორმებისა და რეგულაციების პროცესების ეფექტურად მართვაში?

Credence Consulting შეიქმნა კრიზისის პერიოდში, USAID-ის დახურვის შემდეგ. გვჯეროდა, რომ კრიზისი ქმნის შესაძლებლობებს, და გადავწყვიტეთ, შეგვექმნა ინოვაციური პლატფორმა, ფილოსოფიით: პოლიტიკიდან → შესრულებამდე → თანამშრომლობიდან → კაპიტალამდე.

დღეს Credence Consulting ერთდროულად არის ექსპერტთა ჰაბი და საკონსულტაციო სერვისების მიმწოდებელი. ვაერთიანებთ საქართველოში და უცხოეთში სხვადასხვა დარგის საუკეთესო პროფესიონალებს და კლიენტებს ვთავაზობთ მომსახურებებს: რეფორმებისა და რეგულაციების მართვა, ფინანსური ბაზრებისა და კონკურენტუნარიანობის შეფასება, პროექტებისა და ინვესტიციების მართვა, მდგრადი განვითარების სისტემების შემუშავება და სხვა.

ჩვენი მთავარი უპირატესობაა მიდგომა — პარტნიორობა მდგრადი შედეგებისთვის. გვყავს სანდო პარტნიორები როგორც საქართველოში, ისე უცხოეთში.

უკვე გვაქვს პირველი წარმატებული პროექტიც: ლოიალტესთან ერთად უზბეკეთში დავიწყეთ მცირე და საშუალო ბიზნესის აქსელერაციის პროგრამა, რომელიც არა მხოლოდ ბიზნესების განვითარებას, არამედ რეგიონული ეკონომიკური კავშირების გაძლიერებასაც ემსახურება.

Credence Consulting-ს გრძელვადიანი მიზნები აქვს რეგიონში — შუა აზიასა და მეზობელ ქვეყნებში. ჩვენი ფილოსოფიაა: კრიზისების გარდაქმნა შესაძლებლობებად და გრძელვადიანი, მდგრადი კაპიტალის შექმნა კლიენტებთან ერთად.

როგორც მონიტორინგის, შეფასებისა და სწავლების პროფესიონალთა ასოციაციის (MELPA) დამფუძნებელი, როგორია თქვენი გამოცდილება MEL სტრატეგიების შექმნაში და რატომ არის ძლიერი MEL ჩარჩო მნიშვნელოვანი განვითარების პროექტების შედეგიანობისთვის?

მჯერა, რომ მონაცემებზე დაფუძნებული ანალიზი და გადაწყვეტილებები წარმატების საწინდარია. ნებისმიერი ინიციატივა, რომელსაც არ ახლავს სტრატეგიული ხედვა და შედეგების წინასწარი გააზრება, განწირულია. MEL მხოლოდ ინსტრუმენტების ნაკრები კი არა — ეს აზროვნების კულტურაა.

ძლიერი MEL სისტემა პროექტებს ანგარიშგების დონეზე არ ტოვებს. ის ქმნის ცოდნას, რომელიც მომავალ ინიციატივებს აძლიერებს და სწავლის პროცესს ამდიდრებს.

გამოცდილებამ მასწავლა, რომ ყველაზე დიდი ღირებულება იქმნება მაშინ, როცა მონაცემები გარდაიქმნება მოქმედებად და ხელშესახებ შედეგებად. სწორედ ამიტომ, ძლიერი MEL ჩარჩო აუცილებელია შედეგიანი და მდგრადი განვითარებისათვის.

MEL პროფესიონალთა ასოციაცია დღეს 80-მდე წევრს აერთიანებს. ჩვენი მიზანია, ეს მიდგომა სისტემურად დავნერგოთ — როგორც საქართველოში, ისე რეგიონში. ასევე ვარ შეფასების საერთაშორისო ასოციაციის (IDEAS) წევრი.

რა იყო თქვენი შთაგონების წყარო, რომ აკადემიურ სფეროში საქმიანობა დაგეწყოთ და რა გავლენა მოახდინა ამ გამოცდილებამ თქვენს პროფესიულ განვითარებაზე?

ცოდნის გაზიარება ჩემთვის უდიდესი სიხარულია. სტუდენტებთან ურთიერთობა მაძლევს ენერგიას და მაიძულებს მუდმივად განვვითარდე.

ვფლობ ეკონომიკის დოქტორის და საჯარო ადმინისტრირების მაგისტრის ხარისხებს. ასევე ვარ ჰარვარდის კენედის სკოლის კურსდამთავრებული (Leading Successful Programs) და გავიარე აკადემიური პროგრამა ოქსფორდის უნივერსიტეტში. როგორც პროფესორი, მიმიწვიეს ჰარვარდის ბიზნესის სკოლის MOC ქსელში, რაც დიდი პატივი და მნიშვნელოვანი გამოცდილებაა.

უკვე 10 წელია ვმუშაობ აკადემიურ სფეროში. ეს სივრცე ცოდნის გაზიარებისა და უკუკავშირის მიღებით ქმნის სინერგიას, რომელიც ახალ იდეებსა და ენერგიას წარმოშობს. თეორიისა და პრაქტიკის სინთეზი აძლევს ჩემს პროფესიულ ცხოვრებას განსაკუთრებულ ღირებულებას: ერთი მხრივ, ვაფასებ კვლევასა და ანალიზს, ხოლო მეორე მხრივ, სტუდენტებს რეალურ მაგალითებს ვუზიარებ.

და ბოლოს, ტრადიციული კითხვა: რას ურჩევდით იმ პროფესიონალებსა და ახალგაზრდებს, რომლებიც ახლა იწყებენ კარიერის პირველ ნაბიჯებს?

უპირველესად, მოუსმინეთ საკუთარ სურვილებს. იყავით ცნობისმოყვარე, ისწავლეთ ყოველდღე და არ შეუშინდეთ გამოწვევებს. დიპლომების დრო წავიდა — ახლა უნარების დროა. თქვენი პრაქტიკული ცოდნა, მოქნილობა და შემოქმედებითი მიდგომა იქნება მთავარი ღირებულება ნებისმიერ სფეროში.

მაქსიმალურად დააფასეთ დრო და იმოქმედეთ. თუმცა, არ დაივიწყოთ work-life balance — ეს არის საფუძველი, რომელიც დიდ წარმატებებს შეგაძლებინებთ.

ყველაზე მთავარი: შეინარჩუნეთ თქვენი ღირებულებები და პოზიტიური ადამიანები გარშემო. ისინი თქვენს ყველაზე სანდო პარტნიორებად იქცევიან ნებისმიერ დროს.
