First, please tell us about your current activities, as we know you are a Sales & Marketing Director at “Terminal”. what stages did you go through, what difficulties did you face and what stage are you at now?

My professional path began with journalism. I started working in my freshmen year, the age when you think that you know everything, but of course, it turns out that you know nothing yet. During this period my curiosity was at its peak and I believe the result of my endless questioning and desire to find the answers gave me the basic knowledge and development of important skills.

I’ve worked for 7 years in the public sector and at the same time I was deeply involved in social and commercial projects. My interest in the business sector began in 2013 and since then I have gone through different industries: an insurance company, and a 5-star hotel chain then I took a turn into a completely new direction – the “coworking” industry where I’m still employed. In my career biography, these different areas have one thing in common: I came to all three businesses at the very beginning when the fastest possible pace of growth and development was required. This is a risky but interesting process, which is one of the fuels for my motivation.

“Terminal” was one of the most difficult challenges, we began to build an industry that was completely unknown to Georgia, and there was not even an example on the local market that I could follow, analyze, and take others’ mistakes into account. Even the Georgian terminology of this industry was one of the tasks that we had to implement. 7 years have passed since then, and from this point of view, I can say that we succeeded.

What’s the biggest factor that has helped you be successful?

At first, I thought that my stubbornness helped me achieve goals, but I soon realized that this trait hurt me more than it helped me. Stubbornness prevents you from admitting failure, which is one of the most important skills for success.

Curiosity and passion help me in any small or large target, this is a quality that does not give me peace until I recognize it, until I find it, until I pull it out, until I do what I have in mind. The process is similar to a computer game: you will have to complete various tasks and overcome difficulties to achieve the final victory. Just like that.

What is your main motivation to keep moving forward?

Getting to know something new, learning. I’m convinced that you remain young until you continue learning. If you have reached the point where all your questions have been answered, you should grab your hat, retire, and make room for those who still have many questions to solve, to explore. Since development only happens while you are moving, if you stop moving, you won’t be able to add value to the growth of the company and motivate the team.

What’s One Thing Every Woman Should Know About Being Successful in Her Career?

Unfortunately, We still live in a patriarchal world, so women need to make more efforts to assert themselves. So far we are in an unequal relationship, imagine you are competing on a treadmill with a man who has a 10-meter handicap, in any field it’s the same, so any victory or success of a woman is an inspiration for thousands of other women. I don’t want to sound like I’m putting this mission on women, but it’s natural, especially in stereotypically male-dominated fields. The new generation is slowly destroying these stereotypes, which makes me very happy.

Finally, let’s wrap up with the traditional question, what would you advise aspiring professionals and young people who are now taking their first career steps?

I don’t think young people need my advice. I am completely fascinated by this generation and am a big supporter of it. A very smart and astonishing generation is coming. Our advice and self-centered standards are useless; they don’t even need us to pet their heads.

The only thing that I have more is an experience. I can happily share it, but this is also individual, everyone must follow their path, make mistakes, and learn from them. Therefore, I wish the youth the best of luck and success.

პირველ რიგში, გთხოვთ, მოგვიყვეთ თქვენი ამჟამინდელი საქმიანობის შესახებ. როგორც ვიცით დაკავებული გაქვთ „ტერმინალ“- ის მარკეტინგისა და გაყიდვების ხელმძღვანელის პოზიცია. რა ეტაპები გაიარეთ, რა სირთულეებს გადააწყდით და რა ეტაპზე იმყოფებით ახლა?

ჩემი პროფესიული გზა ჟურნალისტიკით დაიწყო, პირველივე კურსიდან დავიწყე მუშაობა, ჯერ კიდევ იმ ასაკში როცა გგონია, რომ ყველაფერი იცი და ამ დროს არც არაფერი იცი. ყველაზე ბევრი კითხვა ამ პერიოდში დავსვი და ვთვლი, რომ ძირითადი ცოდნაც და უნარებიც ამ კითხვებზე პასუხების ძიებაში შევიძინე. ჟურნალისტიკიდან საზოგადოებასთან ურთიერთობის სფეროში გადავედი. 7 წელი ვიმუშავე საჯარო სამსახურში და პარალელურად ვაკეთებდი სოციალურ და კომერციულ პროექტებს. 2013 წლიდან ბიზნესით დავინტერესდი.  გამოვიარე ერთმანეთისგან სრულიად განსხვავებული სფეროები: დაზღვევა, 5 ვარსკვლავიანი სასტუმროს ქსელი, საიდანაც გადმოვინაცვლე სრულიად ახალ მიმართულებაში- ,,ქოვორქინგ“ ინდუსტრიაში, სადაც დღემდე ვარ.  ამ სხვადასხვა სფეროს ერთი საერთო აქვს ჩემს კარიერულ ბიოგრაფიაში, სამივე ბიზნესში მივედი დასაწყისში, მაშინ როცა ყველაზე სწრაფი ზრდა და განვითარების ტემპებია საჭირო. რისკიანი, მაგრამ საინტერესო პროცესია, მე კი აზარტული ადამიანი ვარ.

,,ტერმინალი“ ერთერთი ყველაზე რთული გამოწვევა იყო, დავიწყეთ საქართველოსთვის სრულიად უცხო ინდუსტრიის შენება და ადგილობრივ ბაზარზე მაგალითიც კი არ არსებობდა, რითიც ვიხელმძღვანებდი, ანალიზს გავაკეთებდი, მათ შეცდომებს გავითვალისწინებდი. ამ სფეროს ქართული ტერმინოლოგიაც კი ჩვენი შესაქმნელი იყო. 7 წელი გავიდა მას შემდეგ და ამ გადმოსახედიდან ვფიქრობ, რომ გამოგვივიდა.

რა არის ყველაზე მნიშვნელოვანი ფაქტორი, რომელიც დაგეხმარათ წარმატების მიღწევაში?

თავიდან ვფიქრობდი, რომ ჩემი ჯიუტი ხასიათი მეხმარებოდა მიზნების მიღწევაში, თუმცა მალევე მივხვდი, რომ ამ თვისებამ უფრო დამაზარალა,  ვიდრე  დამეხმარა. სიჯიუტე ხელს გიშლის აღიარო მარცხი, რაც ერთერთი აუცილებელი უნარია წარმატებისთვის.

დახმარებით აზარტულობა მეხმარება, აზარტი ნებისმიერ პატარა თუ დიდ წამოწყებაში, ეს თვისებაა, რაც მოსვენებას არ მაძლევს, სანამ არ ამოვიცნობ, სანამ არ მივაგნებ, სანამ არ გამოვიყვან, სანამ არ გავაკეთებ ისეთს, როგორიც დასაწყისშივე ჩავიფიქრე.  ეს პროცესი კომპიუტერულ თამაშს გავს,  სხვადასხვა დავალებები უნდა გააკეთო და გამოწვევები უნდა გადალახო, რომ საბოლოო გამარჯვებას მიაღწიო. ასეა საქმეც.

 

რა არის თქვენი მთავარი მოტივაცია წინსვლის გასაგრძელებლად?

სიახლე, ახლის შეცნობა, შესწავლა. ესეთი განცდა მაქვს, რომ სანამ სწავლობ ახალგაზრდა ხარ. თუ მიხვედი იქამდე, რომ  ყველა შენს კითხვაზე პასუხი გაცემულია, უნდა დაიხურო ქუდი, წახვიდე დამსახურებულ პენსიაზე და  გზა დაუთმო მათ, ვისაც ჯერ კიდევ ბევრი კითხვა აქვს ამოსახსნელი, შესასწავლი.  რადგან განვითარება მხოლოდ მოძრაობის დროს ხდება, თუ შენ დაასრულე მოძრაობა, ვერც კომპანიის განვითარებას შეძლებ და ვერც მოტივაციას მისცემ გუნდს.

რა არის ის ერთი რამ, რაც ყველა ქალმა უნდა იცოდეს წარმატებული კარიერის შესახებ?

სამწუხაროდ, სამყარო დღემდე პატრიარქალურია, ამიტომ ქალებს მეტი ძალისხმევა გვჭირდება თავის დასამკვიდრებლად. ჯერჯერობით არათანასწორ პირობებში ვართ, წარმოიდგინეთ სარბენ ბილიკზე ეჯიბრები მამაკაცს, რომელსაც 10 მეტრიანი ფორა აქვს, ასეა ნებისმიერ სფეროში, ამიტომ ქალის ნებისმიერი გამარჯვება თუ წარმატება ინსპირაციაა ათასობით სხვა ქალისთვის. არ მინდა ისე გამომივიდეს, თითქოს ქალებს ამ მისიას ვაკისრებ, მაგრამ ბუნებრივად ასეა, განსაკუთრებით ისეთ სფეროებში, სადაც სტერეოტიპების მიხედვით, მამაკაცურ საქმიანობად მიიჩვნევენ.  ახალი თაობა ამ სტერეოტიპებს ნელნელა ანგრევს, რაც მახარებს.

და ბოლოს, შემოვიფარგლებით ტრადიციული კითხვით, რას ურჩევდით დამწყებ პროფესიონალებსა და ახალგაზრდებს, რომლებიც ახლა დგამენ პირველ კარიერულ ნაბიჯებს?

სულაც არ ვფიქრობ, რომ ახალგაზრდებს ჩემი რჩევა ჭირდებათ.  სრულიად მოხიბლული ვარ ამ თაობით და დიდი გულშემატკივარი ვარ. ძალიან გონიერი და რაც მთავარია, ლაღი თაობა მოდის.  ამ თაობას  ჩვენი რჩევები და თავს მოხვეული სტანდარტები არაფერში გამოადგებათ, ისინი ჩვენგან არც თავზე ხელის გადასმას საჭიროებენ.

ერთედრთი რამ რაც მათზე მეტი მაქვს არის გამოცდილება, შემიძლია გავუზიარო, თუმცა ესეც ინდივიდუალურია, ყველამ საკუთარი გზა უნდა გაიაროს, თავად უნდა დაუშვას შეცდომები და ამ შეცდომებზე ისწავლოს.  ასე, რომ ახალგაზრდებს წარმატებებს ვუსურვებ.
